HOSPITAL CORPSMAN 3 & 2 Test not yet available

Provides information on the following topics: prevention, recognition, and treatment of disease and injuries, and in the administration of medical departments ashore, afloat, and in the field with the Marine Corps; perform first aid; assist in the transportation of the sick and injured; assist with physical examinations; give nursing care to patients, including the administration of medicines and parental solutions; collect laboratory specimens and perform simple laboratory procedures; assist in the procurement, storage, and issue of, and keeping of accounting records for, medical supplies; instruct in personal hygiene, first aid, and self-aid; assist in the preparation and maintenance of medical records; assist in the maintenance of approved sanitary standards; and assist in the prevention and treatment of chemical, biological, and radiological casualties.

Provides information on the following topics: Abilities to supervise and conduct sick call and emergency patients; recognizing and treating emergency dental conditions; performing health care inspections; performing and interpreting the results of elementary laboratory procedures; discharging environmental and preventive medicine functions such as sewage and refuse disposal, sexually transmitted disease contact interviewing and reporting, and food-service sanitation procedures; ordering, receiving, and issuing supplies and maintaining the associated accounting records; administering mass immunizations; preparation and maintenance of personnel records; executing the various aspects of the Decedent Affairs Program; ensuring compliance with rules and regulations for security practices and procedures; medical aspects of nuclear, biological, and chemical defense; health care administration and programs; legal implications in medical care; and performing the general duties connected with the administration of medical departments ashore and afloat.

DENTAL TECHNICIAN, VOLUME 01

This course addresses the following subjects: general administration and orientation; technical administration and responsibilities; head and neck anatomy; oral anatomy and pathology; emergency treatment for oral diseases and injuries; oral pharmacology; nutrition and diet; infection control; sterilization and infection; dental safety and equipment safety; shipboard, fleet marine force, and naval mobile construction; casualty care and CBR warfare.

DENTAL TECHNICIAN, VOLUME 02

This course addresses the following subjects: dental radiology and examinations; preventive and operative dentistry; oral surgery; periodontal, endodontic, and prosthodontic assistance; dental treatment room emergencies, and forensic dentistry.
